Microneedling

Dr. Berens offers the very latest revolutionary advanced skin micro needling system in his Fort Lauderdale office. Micro needling is one of the fastest growing cosmetic procedures for rejuvenating and smoothing the skin.

What is Microneedling?

Skin needling, also called micro needling therapy, derma rolling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin, therefore reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks.

Microneedling creates more than 500,000 channels in the skin through which any number of topical serums can be applied with direct delivery to the deeper layers of the skin. Through this process there is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

After the treatment in our Ft Lauderdale Broward County office your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and very long lasting skin enhancement.
